Lake Protector
Lake Protector: Essential Enzyme Water Clarifier
Highly concentrated and formulated for all multi-component filtration systems. Designed to stimulate and accelerate natural biological reactions that cause organic substances to decompose. Formulated for bodies of water with 50,000 to 500,000 gallons. Diminishes unpleasant odors. Lake Protector is made up of thousands of different enzymes that break down contaminants for Mother Nature’s bacteria to absorb. Biodegradable, non-toxic, all-natural, bacteria-free enzymes. Pond with Duckweed
Pond with Duckweed after 2 treatments
Objective: The removal and control of Chara, Filamentous, Planktonic Algae and Duck Weed.
Products Recommended:
Lake Protector Concentrate – 1oz treats 16,000 gallons
Math: Divide 16,000 by total gallons per pond, lake or lagoon; that number will give you the total ounces needed per month.
Lake Builder Booster Pouch – 8oz dissolvable pouch treats 250,000 gallons
*Note: You cannot overdose a pond with bacteria.
Recommended Use:
Lake Protector Concentrate: Mix half the recommended monthly dosage in a new clean weed sprayer and fill the rest with warm water. Apply the second half of the required amount every two weeks for the first two months. Starting the third month, apply recommended dosage all at one time. Should pond become cloudy during the monthly applications, return back to original recommendation.
Lake Builder Booster Pouch: Randomly apply recommended number of pouches to lake; one (1) 8 ounce pouch for 250,000 gallons. Ponds treated prior with any algaecides or herbicides should remain on bacteria treatment along with Lake Protector treatments.
*Note: Aeration will greatly help the performance of both products. Products will still work but just not as fast. Treatments should begin as soon as the air temperature does not remain below 45 degrees over an eight hour period. Best results remain on treatments all summer long.
Note: Algaecides and or Herbicides kill Indigenous bacteria and Mother Nature’s Natural Bacteria.
Measuring Water:
Measure in feet. Length x Width x Average Depth x 7.481 = Average Gallons
Comparison – Enzymes vs. Bacteria
Enzymes – Lake Protector Concentrate
A mixture of tens of thousands of different enzymes, all bacteria free. Our process of growing our enzymes is done using bacteria. After the fermentation is completed, we strip the bacteria from the enzymes in a unique trade secret process, leaving only the enzymes behind.
Lakes really only need to be fed enzymes. The lake already has plenty of bacteria, but the problem is that the lake is being fed faster than what the bacteria can consume.
Bacteria – Lake Builder Booster
5 Billion Colony Forming Units (CFU) per gram
16 Different Gram Negative Strains
Gram Negative Bacteria, Non-Sporalated and Non-Pathogenic, product will start to reproduce in as little as twenty minutes, other bacteria products takes days to reproduce.
Lake Builder Booster is formulated with Pectinase, Cellulase, Keratinase, Amylase, Ligninase, Xylanase, Lipase and Protease, all of which produce small amounts of enzymes.
Result – The processing of enzymes will digest leaf litter, algae cells, grass clippings, organic sediment, dead plant material and other organic components.
There is a down side to using only bacteria. Whether it is CareFree products, or any other manufacturers products, results are not long lasting. Manmade bacteria, is only engineered to eat certain types of organics. That is why we offer 16 different types of bacteria, to provide a wider coverage of results. First month results are quite noticeable, the second month are ok but not that great, after the third and fourth months, results are hardly noticeable because the bacteria ate what it was going to eat. Whatever was left behind is something it is not engineered to eat. That is why enzymes are the most important product to use. Enzymes will break down all food sources, for manmade and indigenous bacteria to consume.

Treatments:
Our typical customer will use our products for the first three months then stop after the pond has become clear and clean. We recommend for bad ponds, products be used every month for the first year. Second year they should use the product every month at half the rate required. Third year, a dose in the spring and another in August or September (the hottest months).
Recommendations:
The above recommendations are averages without using testing equipment. The proper way to use any product would be to test the BOD, DO and COD load of the pond and calculate from those numbers.
