F.A.Q.
Buying
Question:
“Where can I purchase your CareFree products?”
Answer:
Our list of retailers and distributors are located on the ‘Where to buy‘ tab on our home page. At the moment, we do not sell directly to customers.
Temperature
Question:
“I applied your product when the temperature was 65 degrees and was wondering if there is an optimum temperature range for the product?”
Answer:
Temperature plays a big role in the effectiveness of our products; the warmer, the better it will work. We suggest that you only use the product when the temperature is above 65 degrees. Our products will still work below that mark, but the results may take longer to appear.
Freezing
Question:
“I left the bottle of Barn Odor Destroyer in the barn over the winter and it froze. Will that effect it?”
Answer:
“There is no issue with the product, solution, freezing. However, our main concern is the integrity of the bottle cap (sealant) not leaking.”
Expiration
Question:
“I bought a liter bottle of Poultry Protector some time ago – I mean a lot of time ago, several years. I don’t find an expiration date on it and I’m wondering if it would still be effective.”
Answer:
The shelf life, providing the product is stored at room temperature, the cap is sealed and not openly exposed, is three years.
Fountains
Question: “I am using your Fountain Protector in my one-tier indoor fountain (10 gallons). There is some foaming occurring, what should I do?”
Answer:
We sell the Pond Defoamer Spray (4 oz) (item# 95664).
Contact your local distributor or retailer and request for an order. Check our ‘Where to Buy’ locations.
Alternative Solutions:
1: Try to slightly decrease the total amount being used.
While our directions state using 1 capful per 5 gallons, it is not an exact science when factoring in rocks, water flow, pumps, etc.
Decrease your total amount to 3/4 of total.
2: Use one drop, per 5 gallons, of hand lotion.
Question:
“I’ve been using your Birdbath Protector for over 2 years and I am very happy with it.
I tried using the Birdbath Protector in my fountain with a 28″ square, 8″high reservoir. However, it isn’t working; can you suggest anything for it?
The birds use it frequently, so it must be bird safe.”
Answer:
The fountain described carries more water than what the BirdBath Protector was designed to do.
The Product I suggest is our Pond and Fountain Protector 16oz bottle -it’s designed for larger bodies of water.
Question:
” Is the Hydroponic Reservoir Protector similar to Pond and Fountain Protector?”
Answer:
Both products are similar – Pond Fountain Protector is designed for outdoor use where there are other contaminates than what we encounter per indoors (Hydroponics).
